In many offices such a request for paperwork is likely to prompt a frantic scrabbling through cabinets accompanied by much cursing and swearing. The Operator Licence pack is an easy to use system that gives customers access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to legal and servicing documents for all 2,500 vehicles on the brs fleet. No software is required – all you need is access to the internet and the registration number of your brs vehicle. When a customer wishes to hire a vehicle, they can call us and ask for the registration number of the vehicles they will be renting. By simply visiting the brs website – www.brs.co.uk - they can then check on the service history and legal documents of the relevant vehicles and be confident that they are receiving trucks that not only comply with the relevant legislation, but are also properly maintained – including the ancillary equipment. The vehicle documents are split into three ‘folders’ - Legal, Maintenance and Ancillary.
All documents are digitally uploaded to the website within 24 hours of receipt, following a detailed quality check for missing, incomplete or incorrect information and to ensure that it contains the signature of the repairing technician and supervisor. The Vehicle Inspectorate has inspected the system and has accepted the use of digital signatures on repair and maintenance documents as valid. Once a document is on the system it cannot be amended, can not be lost and will always remain in its original condition.
